Meadly, George Richard William   (1910 - 1994)

Born on 12 Nov 1909 at Fremantle, WA; died on 10 Oct 1994 at Nedlands, WA.

He graduated with a BSc from University of WA in 1931.

His herbarium collections start in 1930 and go through to 1972.

We know that he enlisted for the Australian army in Perth on 12 April 1942, but there is no record of his posting.
At the time he is listed as 'botanist' and married to wife Marjorie.

He unfortunately made headlines around Australia in April 1946:

returned to his home from a near by tennis court yesterday afternoon to find his wife, Marjorie,
and three-year-old daughter, Jillian, with their throats cut and both dead.
A razor was found near the mother.
